The Aborigines consider Ayers Rock to be sacred and climbing the rock was banned in 1983; sadly, the owners of the rock decided to allow climbing again in 1985, which has led to erosion and accidents, despite ropes being placed to make for an easier climb.

*Day four, you’ll visit Ayer’s Rock itself, as well as one of the following tours:: Uluru & Kantju Gorge Sunset, Ata Tjuta & Walpa Gorge, Uluru Cultural Center & Gourmet Dinner under the Stars, or Explorer Sunrise.

If you have some extra time, you may want to visit New South Wales’ Blue Mountains, offering some of the most striking natural beauty in Australia.
