Where is a good place to spend Spring Break in California?

My friend and I would like to go to California for our Spring Break (March) We’re seniors in college, 21+, and looking for a chill place. We’re not looking for a party scene but just a place to hit the beach all day and a bar at night. Is this even possible to find during spring break? I haven’t begun pricing yet so any suggestions are helpful. Thanks.
